synopsis

right after a traumatic event, a young boy encounters a strange man. the two keep crossing paths as the boy takes a strange elevator up the floors of life.

  • this story was inspired by imagery i saw on the back of my eyelids while listening to a song of the same title by the band coil. originally the theme song for the british 70’s sitcom you are being served, this list of department store items was morphed into a sprawling statement on leaving the material world behind.
  • attrition: a gradual process of reduction, wearing down, or weakening. varying examples of attrition can be found in this issue.
